BARBER ARCHITECTURE

The City of Denver decided to centralize its public works-related functions at a single location in order to provide better service to its citizens. Located adjacent to Downtown in a mixed-use industrial area, the complex houses a diverse program including a permit center, executive office space, an engineering department, chemical and testing laboratories, and service bays for heavy vehicles.

The cast stone wall panels of the building recall the imagery of dignified public works buildings built in the 1930's under the Works Progress Administration.
