The City of Denver's Planning and Development Office enlisted Barber Architecture to help the Downtown Zoning Committee visualize the proposed rezoning of the downtown core, and its impact on street level sunlight on the 16th Street Mall. Three-dimensional computer models of the district were used to analyze over seventy-five development scenarios. From the analysis, it was determined that both sunlight preservation and higher density would be accomplished within the proposed zoning revision, and the B5 zoning ordinance was unanimously endorsed by the Zoning Committee, and subsequently approved by the City Council.
